My Story
Father of 2, husband, and a survivor of GBS.
I am a father of 2 children, a husband, and a survivor of the Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS).
Before becoming a financial consultant, I was a teacher for 9 years. I loved teaching. However, in 2016, I was hit with GBS which left me with a hefty medical bill, and a long hospitalisation leave of 6 months.
While I was recovering, I realised I was lucky. My insurance covered the right risks. I had an extraordinarily long hospitalisation paid leave when I fell sick. My family's finances were not impacted and our assets were free to grow.
But it was not by design. It was by chance.
I realised that had things turned out differently, the final outcome would have been disastrous for my life.
If I needed to worry about my finances while trying to recuperate, I might not have recovered so quickly, which ironically would have led to even higher bills, higher stress levels and longer recovery time.
I saw that a proper financial plan can help us when things turn south. A robust plan will give us peace during our down times and allow us to focus on what matters. I also saw that a proper financial plan can help even when things are going well, because it gives us a sense of peace that our financial house is neat and we can focus on living.
My role as a financial consultant is to help you to plan and implement the plan. Let's get started!
